MOST of us can remember our first job.
For some it can be the start of a career path, for others it may convince them of a direction change.
That first wage packet was a big deal, and signalled a level of independence
Whatever the experience, wherever they ended up, the Leader asked readers to share where their had their debut into the world of work.
Posting into the Local Bygones Facebook group, here are just some of those first jobs, and it also acts a nostalgic tour of businesses from across Wrexham and Flintshire...
Carol Hughes: "Secretary to the geologist at Sir Alfred McAlpine & Sons, based at Borras Airfield. Sir Jimmy's plane used the runway and I was in charge if answering the pilots calls - 'John we're clearing the sheep from the runway, over'. I loved the job, the place, the abundant wildlife outside my office window."
Pat Murray: "Astons offices (where Waterstones is now) five-and-a-half day week, £2-50p a week!"
Pete Roberts: "Time and motion boy in Universal Underwear on the Queensway."

Gill Pilgrim: "Williamsons pork butchers in town for only two weeks as I got a job in my own village to save paying bus fare out of my small pay packed, Ethelstons cefn Mawr was my first job."
Rhys Gareth Stevens: "Peeling potatoes in the local chippy when I was 15."
Janette Radford: "Bunked off school and went to Woolworths, M&S and Littlewoods to ask if there was any vacancies. I was offered a sales assistant position in Littlewoods and had many happy years there, with a great bunch of friends."
Guy Vine: "Attendant at Holywell Leisure Centre."

Frankie Jenkins: "Wrexham leatherworks 62 years ago."
Claire Campbell: "Safeguard Insurance, King Street, Wrexham, insurance clerk, 1991."
James Allan Edwards: "Working on a farm in Pick Hill Isycoed Marchwiel at 15."
Jeanette Downward Baines: "Zircon lighting age 17, making street lights for football stadiums. Would not be able to do it now, health and safety would not of had it."

Neil Williams: "Classic Ices, making choc ices and mayhem!"
Lizzy Morris: "I was about 15, worked for my grandad (Pop) Tom Morris and my Aunty Sandra in Busfields in the vegetable market every Saturday, I loved it. Wage was about £4.50 I think. Happy Days."
Ste Davies: "Brennans butchers in Mold."
Jennifer Allen: "I started work in 1966 in Williams grocery shop in Kingsley Circle, I worked six-and-a-half days a week for £4 a week. My keep was £2 and I kept £2."

Gill Ellis: "A fruit shop in the market and a cafe by the parish church, I was 13, it was good."
Steve Douglas: "Datsun garage in New Broughton (Dickens) removing wax coating from new factory cars before they went to sales."
June Hilton: "Regent street motors 1978."
Stephen Robinson: "Selling the Evening Leader and Shropshire Star and 'big' Leader on a Thursday by the gas showroom on King street and take what I didn't sell up to the hospital at visiting time and sell the rest, 1985-7 - good times."

Diane Lee: "Knitmesh. First local labour when the company moved from Rhuddlan, 1967. Loved it."
Leslie Glynne Edwards: "Chester Zoo, trainee bird keeper! Family nicknamed me Edwards the zoo."
Kim Lewis: "Tasty Cut the butcher in Queen Street 1974, think my first wage was £11."
