FLINTSHIRE'S 'Rock the Dragon' event has gone down a treat with the community as local bands and musicians took to the stage.

Organised by Bagillt Community Volunteers, especially Carys Gittins for her dedicated time, the event on September 7 featured live music from local bands, stalls, food and drinks, and family games - with talented musicians as young as 13-years-old.

Local businesses supported the day, helping to ensure the event was a great success. Special mention goes to KINGSPAN, M beck site services, J Roberts slurry sealing, Brook storage and Amethyst Auras.

Happy attendees commented that the free event resembled a 'mini Glastonbury' festival on social media, running from midday until 8pm.

"People were up dancing, catching up with friends and just having a really fun time", said co-organiser Bryn Gittins.

He added: "We had support from Flintshire County Council and the countryside team who attended the event all day providing children and families with information and freebies."

"As Rock the Dragon was a walking event we also received support and funding from the UK government SPF fund to put in some temporary traffic management to enable safe access to the Bettisfield site. North Wales Police also supported.

"Of course, the bands who attended were excellent. We thoroughly enjoyed the day. Hopefully we can do it all again next year!"
