AN APPLICATION has been submitted to increase the capacity of the temporary stand at the STok Cae Ras.
The previous Kop Stand at Wrexham AFC's home ground has been removed as of last year, having been last used in 2010.
Full planning permission for the permanent replacement Kop Stand, to accommodate 5,500 spectator seats, inclusive of a 500 capacity hospitality area, and a 600 capacity exhibition space, new public realm and associated works, was granted on January 12, 2023.
This will eventually see the re-introduction of the important Kop to the ground and re-create a four-sided stadium once more, increasing the overall capacity from 10,000 to 15,000.
In December 2023, a temporary stand with a capacity of 2,289 (and additional 20 wheelchair spaces) was introduced where the new Kop will eventually be located.
This was due to the significant demand for tickets for Wrexham's home games.
Over the summer, the club confirmed that they had increased the capacity of the temporary Kop to around 3,000, an additional 681 seats.
As a result, the club has recorded some of their highest attendances in over 40 years at the Racecourse so far this season.
Now, Savill's have submitted an application to Wrexham Council - on behalf of Wrexham AFC - looking to rubber stamp the extension that occurred in the off-season.

The temporary stand opened for the first time when Wrexham faced Newport County in the Welsh derby on December 23 last year.
James Jones and then-leading scorer Elliot Lee scored at that end of the ground as the Reds triumphed 2-0 in League Two.
