FIREFIGHTERS have dealt with a number of incidents so far this week in Wrexham.

The North Wales Fire and Rescue Service's Wrexham Green Watch team has provided its Instagram followers with an update on what the team has been up to.

It has so far been a 'steady' week of incidents in the county for the firefighters who are on call to help.

They have tackled a fire out in the open in Llay, which was extinguished by using one pump.

They then assisted a person who had fell over a wall onto a ledge and had sustained a spinal injury.

Firefighters helped rescue the person to prevent further injury from a potential secondary fall.

The team also attended a house fire in Hope, which required four teams; two from Wrexham, one from Deeside and one from Buckley, along with an ICU from Rhyl.

Green Watch teams from Wrexham and Deeside returned the next day to continue damping down the fire.

A spokesperson for the Wrexham Green Watch team said: "Fortunately, the occupants escaped unharmed, but the home suffered significant damage."

Firefighters also attended the scene of a house in Penycae, where smoke was reported and a vehicle fire at a city centre petrol station.

The spokesperson added: "This week was relatively steady for the watch, with several calls attended."
