A VIKING-themed event is set to take place in Wrexham this weekend. 

Park in the Past, in Hope is hosting a Viking weekend at its site on Saturday and Sunday (September 14 and 15). 

From 10am until 5pm on both days there will be a range of Viking events and demonstrations, with food and drink options also on offer. 

On Saturday evening there will also be an evening of Viking tales and music from 6pm until 9pm. 

Tickets to the events are £10 and can be found on Park in the Past's website.

A spokesperson said: "We welcome Stronghold Living History and their beautiful Viking era boat back to Park in the Past.

"Stronghold will be setting up their camp beside the Viking harbour again, demonstrating living history and all things nautical as they sail their boat on the lake.

"The bar will be open in the Fort serving food and cold drinks - including mead. We also have our Viking trader selling handmade jewellery items.

"'Horns Up!' Music, Mead and the very best of Viking Sagas being told by Olaf the Beardless. This is aimed towards an adult audience, though children are welcome - they will need a ticket too!"
