When and why did you take up photography?
My mum got me a purple triple A battery operated camera when I was 13 and the rest is history!
What do you love about taking pictures?
It's great motivation to get me out of the house. I love solo travelling, so when I'm out with my camera, it's great to just get lost in creativity.
It doesn't matter if I've taken 1,000 'bad' pictures (is there really such thing?), as long as there's one I fall in love with, it's worth it.
Where is your favourite place to take pictures?
I love tennis, so it has to be Wimbledon! Every year, there's some incredible stories and unlikely heroes that make it special and the fact I have some of those is a great feeling. Plus, there's more than just tennis, I like to capture while I'm there.
I enjoy getting some creative photos of the presenters and commentators in action. I'm a huge Clare Balding fan, so I couldn't resist getting her in my camera roll.
What equipment do you use?
I've been using the Nikon D5600 since 2019 and I've recently got myself a Canon AE-1 film camera.
What do you enjoy about being part of the Leader Camera Club?
It's a great platform to feel inspired and find new places to explore, even if the camera doesn't come with me. I've never posted in the group because I'm quite shy, but maybe I should! Watch this space...
If you could photograph anyone or any place who/what would it be?
I've already mentioned it but Wimbledon. I'd love to (somehow) get media accreditation, even if it's just for one day, and live out my childhood dream of working there.
It's never been about if I get paid or not, I just want to meet new people, make memories and prove that anything is possible.
Anything else you think we should know?
When I was 22 and nearing the end of my journalism degree, I wasn't finding much luck in finding my 'dream job'. I decided to apply for a few press passes to some top tennis tournaments in the UK and managed to get lucky.
I funded the entire two-week trip myself but met some lovely people, mixed with some of the best tennis players I'd watched growing up and taken a good few photos as well.
When I was in Eastbourne, I got a call from Tennis Wales asking if I could freelance for them at the 2019 Welsh Championships and worked with them multiple for the years that followed. Things really do happen for a reason.
I'm not a professional, but you can find some of my old stuff on my Instagram, @curlsonffilm, and I've recently been sharing my most up-to-date shots on my other account, @karabethdavies_
