A MAN and woman from Wrexham are to be sentenced after admitting they intended to pervert the course of justice over a complaint made to police.

Ethan Davies, of Ffordd Gwilym in Wrexham, appeared at Mold Crown Court on Friday alongside co-defendant Chloe Brand, of Ffordd Offa in Rhos.

Davies, 23, admitted one offence of dangerous driving, which took place on various Wrexham roads on March 16 last year, as well as committing an act with intent to pervert the course of public justice.

According to the charge, the day after the dangerous driving, he made a false complaint burglary and the theft of a motor vehicle to North Wales Police.

Brand, 21, admitted one offence of committing an act with intent to pervert the course of public justice - in that she made a statement to North Wales Police in support of a false complaint of burglary and theft of a vehicle, which also took place on March 17 last year.

The court heard that while a pre-sentence report had been prepared for Davies, further assessment was needed for Brand to determine her suitability for a mental health treatment requirement.

Judge Nicola Saffman told the pair: "I adjourn both of your cases, you were in this together - you need to be sentenced together."

Both defendants were granted bail and Davies received an interim driving ban, given his admission to dangerous driving.

They will be back in the dock on September 30 to be sentenced.
