A WOMAN has praised the actions of a bus driver and his supervisor, who's quick thinking helped her friend during a medical emergency in Wrexham.

Coleen Fitzgerald was on her way to Chester on Thursday afternoon (September 5), when her friend started to feel very unwell.

She then asked the Gary, the Arriva driver, if they were able to stop so that they could get off and get a taxi home, to which he agreed.

After pulling over near the Red Lion in Marford, Gary insisted that Coleen and her friend remained on the bus whilst he called his supervisor to organise another bus to take the remaining passengers to Chester.

Coleen then rang for an ambulance and after answering the necessary questions were told that they'd be waiting between one to three hours for an ambulance to arrive.

Gary's supervisor Darren, then arrived in a separate vehicle, where he picked up Coleen and her friend and transported them to the Maelor Hospital.

Coleen says the acts of kindness from Gary, Darren and other passengers has "restored her faith in human nature".

She said: "It was really worrying, my friend wasn't well, but Gary pulled the bus over and said he was going to ring his supervisor and get someone else to take the remaining passengers to Chester.

"Darren then helped us into a separate vehicle and took us off to hospital, thank God we got my friend there in time as we didn't know what it could be.

"People these days are always complaining about different things and bus delays etc, but without these two, it could have been very different.

"Even the other passengers on the bus, they weren't moaning, they were concerned and one young girl even ran over the road to the shop to get a bottle of water for us.

"Everybody was so nice, thank goodness for their help, it was very very kind of them.

"It's restored my faith in human nature."
