A HEALTH board chief has urged Wrexham Maelor Hospital staff and patients to allow extra time due to traffic issues caused by an ongoing one-way road closure.
Croesnewydd Road is closed one-way until November as Wales & West Utilities undertakes major gas works in the area.
Hospital patients and staff have reported traffic "mayhem" outside the hospital at peak times, especially during rush hour. Some patients have said they missed appointments as a result.

Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board (BCUHB) has acknowledged the issues, and has urged people to allow extra time if visiting or working at the hospital.
Ian Donnelly, director of operations for the East Integrated Health Community at BCUHB, said: "We encourage patients, visitors and staff at Wrexham Maelor Hospital to please plan ahead for your journey, and allow extra time in case you experience delays due to the temporary road works along Croesnewydd Road.
"For those who can, please travel by public transport and walk to the hospital, but we understand that this is not possible in all cases and can be challenging."
