A BAKERY and cafe in Wrexham city centre is celebrating it's one year anniversary since opening it's doors.
Reggie's Artisan Bakery and Kitchen on Chester Street opened on September 4, 2023, the same day the Tour of Britain came to town.
Owner, Richard Sonner had worked in the industry since he was 15 years old, mainly occupying roles in gastro-eating or fine dining.
Last year, he decided the time was right to open his own bakery, and renovated the building, previously run as EmzCakes, which closed down in December 2022.
Richard said that a lot of work went in, with the property being completely stripped and redone in order to bring out the Victorian features of the building, something that drew him into buying the property.
After an "exciting year", Reggie's owner says he is looking forward to what's to come.
Richard said: "It’s been an exciting year for our city centre cafe and bakery. We opened on the same day of the men’s Tour of Britain cycling racing, and it’s been eventful from then on!
"We’ve had the Mayor here making pies and serving customers, we’ve had so many tourists and overseas visitors, it’s been so positive for us and for our city.
"We’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone that has been here, many of whom have returned to support us over the year.
"We’ve had so much amazing feedback from our customers, who have loved the food, the decor, the service and the atmosphere of the cafe saying it is like a family here and that it feels like we’ve been here for years.

"We’ve had overwhelming comments about all our food, in particular our afternoon teas, which have become a firm favourite along with our handmade gourmet pies.
"We have most recently launched our outside catering service, offering buffets and catering to businesses and private events.
"We’re excited for the year ahead with lots of plans to offer much more including speciality global dishes, licensed gourmet evening theme nights and much more for our customers, old and new."
