PLANNED strike action by maintenance and cleaning workers at Airbus’ site in Broughton has been suspended after an improved pay offer was put forward.

Industrial action involving CBRE workers employed at the Broughton plant had been scheduled for September 6,7,9 and 10 over what Unite the union described as a "measly" pay offer.

It has been suspended to allow the more than 140 workers, who are members of Unite, to be balloted on a new pay offer by the company.

Unite regional officer Jono Davies said: “Following an improved offer from CBRE, Unite has suspended strikes in order to ballot its members on the new offer.”

A CBRE spokesperson previously said its employees' "welfare and safety is always its "main priority", and that it is "actively working towards resolution".
