A WREXHAM couple celebrating their diamond wedding anniversary today (Thursday, September 5) have revealed their key to a long-lasting marriage.
Pat and David Truss, from Llay, married on September 5, 1964 and are celebrating 60 years together.
They met at a dance in Smethwick, Birmingham, in 1961 - when David was stationed there with the RAF while completing national service.
They married three years later at St Albans Church in Smethwick, before moving to Wrexham in 1978.
David was manager of the old Fosters menswear store in Wrexham, while Pat worked in a local shop. They have three children; Andrew, Mary and Helen, as well as six grandchildren.
Pat said: "We just get on so well together. We are best friends and love each other so much. We're so proud of reaching our diamond anniversary, 60 years has gone so quick.
"We're having a family get-together this weekend to celebrate the achievement, which will be lovely."
Their children, Andrew, Mary and Helen, said: "We are very proud of our mum and dad, and it is a wonderful achievement to reach 60 years of marriage. They have always been helpful, caring and amazing grandparents to their grandchildren and always offered help with child care when needed. We appreciate everything you have done for us in the past.
"We are wishing them all the very best for a very happy 60th diamond wedding anniversary and we will enjoy celebrating with a party on Saturday."
