A WREXHAM takeaway business has been shortlisted in the UK's 'Top 100 Kebab Shops'.
Local businesses, including restaurants and takeaways, are the beating heart of our communities and high streets.
Now, customers across the UK are being encouraged to vote for their favourite local takeaway/restaurant in the 13th prestigious British Kebab Awards in association with Just Eat. You can vote here.
After launching in 2020, Chip-O-Dee has become a favourite among locals and tourists, situated on Borras Road in Wrexham. So much so, it has been shortlisted in the Top 100 across Britain.
Owner Haci Deniz said: "To even be considered in the top take way in UK is a fantastic achievement, but my aim is to always produce the best service to my customers. But for my customers to support me and enable me to win would just mean everything.
"To be recognised by my customers that what I’m doing for them is great."
A spokesperson from the British Kebab Awards added: "More and more, kebab restaurants have undergone a transformation in public perception, from once being seen as an unhealthy late night snack, they are now enjoyed in many forms and varieties. We eat them as a sit-down meal with family and friends, as a quick lunch, or indeed after the pub.
"We’re rewarding the dedication of local kebab takeaway and restaurant owners across the country, recognising their contribution to our economy on a truly national scale.

"We’re saying thank you to the unsung heroes, the hardworking people behind the great little kebab takeaway and restaurant places. What’s more, we are giving people the chance to say definitively that they have the best kebab restaurant.
"The kebab industry is worth over £2.2 billion to the UK economy and has been an integral part of our culture for decades – it’s time to recognise and further promote its contribution!"
The grand ceremony will take place in 2025, featuring politicians, journalists and other public and business personalities.
