A BUS route in Wrexham is set to change amid long term roadworks.

Wales & West Utilities begin work to upgrade gas pipes in the Croesnewydd Road area of Wrexham today (September 2). 

The works, taking place near the Maelor Hospital are expected to last around three months.

As a result of the works, Lloyds coaches have announced that certain areas of Wrexham will not be served on one of their routes. 

On the Wrexham to Dolgellau route (T3 service), Watery Lane, the Maelor Hospital and Rhyd Broughton Lane will no longer be stopped at, instead the service will operate via Mold Road.

A spokesperson said: "Due to long term Gas Main works near Wrexham Maelor Hospital, buses will be unable to serve Watery Lane, Maelor Hospital or Rhyd Broughton Lane heading towards Dolgellau for approximately 8 weeks.

"Buses towards Dolgellau will operate via Mold Road.

"Buses towards Wrexham will operate as normal via the Maelor Hospital."
