A NON-profit group is hosting an open day for people to find out more about volunteering opportunities.

Refurbs Flint has announced their volunteer open day and sign-up event, to highlight what opportunities are available.

Whether you are looking to give something back or someone eager to learn and grow, your contribution as a volunteer will have a lasting impact.

The volunteer open day and sign-up event offers the chance to explore the Refurbs Flint site, meet the team and learn about the new and exciting volunteer roles available and discover how contributing to this local charity makes a real difference in your community.

The event takes place on Thursday, September 12, from 11am-3pm at the site on Aber Park Industrial Estate, Flint.

Refurbs Flint is a community-focused charity dedicated to sustainability and supporting communities through various initiatives. Offering affordable, high quality household appliances and furniture, whilst delivering on sustainability and reducing waste sent to landfill through services that include house clearances, bulky waste collections and recycling.

In addition, Refurbs Flint hosts a weekly Community Fridge that aims to reduce food waste and support food sharing within the local community. The Community Fridge is stocked with surplus food from local supermarkets, businesses, households and even gardens. They are accessible to everyone, and the idea is to make good use of food that would otherwise be discarded.

• Social media volunteer(s) - help spread the word and engage with the audience online.

• Administrative volunteer(s) - support the customer services department in delivering excellent customer services and administrative support.

• Retail volunteers(s) - support the customer services department in delivering excellent customer services, across the range of Refurbs retail activities.

• Furniture repair assistant(s) - assist the team in furniture repair for resale reducing waste sent to landfill.

• Community Fridge assistant - work alongside the community fridge team to reduce food waste and offering access to fresh food to all.

Refurbs Flint are part of the Groundwork North Wales group, thanks to funding from Volunteering Wales, funded by Welsh Government administered by WCVA they have been able recruit a Volunteer Recruitment Lead which has enabled them to organise this event.
