MOLD Food Festival is set to make its much-anticipated return next month.

Culinary enthusiasts will be flocking to the town when the event kicks off on Friday, September 13.

Ahead of the event, we have compiled all the key information you need to know.

Where will the festival take place?

The festival will be held in the heart of Mold, transforming New Street Carpark into a culinary wonderland.

Will there be transport to the event?

As in previous years, there will be a FREE Park and Ride from Theatr Clwyd to Mold Bus Station on Saturday and Sunday during Festival hours. There are no Park and Ride facilities for the Friday night event.

Saturday Buses 1 & 2

• Bus 1
9.15am – 5pm to operate continuous Free Shuttle Service
Between Mold County Hall and Mold Bus Station as directed

• Bus 2
9.45am – 5.45pm to operate continuous Free Shuttle Service
Between Mold County Hall and Mold Bus Station as directed
Last bus leaving Mold Bus Station at 5.40pm.

Sunday Buses 1 & 2

9.30am – 5.30pm to operate continuous Free Shuttle Service
Between Mold County Hall and Mold Bus Station as directed

10am – 5.45pm to operate continuous Free Shuttle Service

What are the opening times?

Friday 13, gates open at 6pm for the unmissable Tribute Night of music. The headline act Don't Stop Queen Now! are currently touring the O2 arenas across the UK.

Saturday 14, the festival opens at 10am and you’ve got until 5pm on Sunday to cram everything in. (On Saturday the indoor stalls close at 6pm, but the music, bars and outdoor food continue till 8pm. Sunday - gates open at 11am.)

So, what stands will be there?

This year the festival has over 100 exhibitors – bringing you food from Wales as well as from all corners of the globe, a broad range of speciality drinks, and a selection of crafts. The festival has got some new things this year too - Young Market Traders and its brand-new Community Hub!

Will there be chef demonstrations?

Of course! Graham Tinsley MBE, executive director of Carden Park Hotel and Spa and director of the Welsh National Culinary Team will be the event's resident chef on Saturday in the Cookery Theatre. Graham and his team will be creating culinary masterpieces to set your tastebuds tingling.

Brand new for 2024, the festival has four local pubs and restaurants ‘popping up’ to create and showcase the brilliant local culinary delights that are just on our doorsteps!

Is there anything for children to do?

There are FREE fairground attractions and more. Theatr Clwyd will bring theatre costumes to try on, and there will be a blacksmith creating amazing items out of iron. Kids can also take to the skies with the Air Cadets’ flight simulator, and try your hand at the fun foodie-inspired treasure hunt.

You mentioned music? Who’s on stage?

Around 20 local acts, many new to the festival, will be entertaining you, and just like the food and drink exhibitors, the festival has something to offer whatever your taste.

What are the ticket prices and where do I buy them? 

Tickets for the the Friday night are priced at £11 in advance and £15 on the gate (Over 18s only). 

Saturday and Sunday:

Saturday Family Saver - £8.50 (1 adult + 2 children). Standard tickets: Adult (18+) - £8.50, Additional child over 5 - £2, Under 5’s - free. Tickets can be bought via https://www.theatrclwyd.com/event/mold-food-drink-festival-2024

Will there be disabled parking? 

There is provision for disabled parking adjacent to the festival site. It is free and very accessible, just follow the signs.

Is the festival wheelchair friendly?

All the marquees are wheelchair accessible with level access to the entrances or easy ramps to access any change in level.

Where are the cashpoints?

There are a number of banks and cashpoints close by, in the town centre.
