Many people were dealt with for motoring offences at Mold Magistrates Court on Monday.

They include...

Chester Commercial Ltd, based at Caste Street in Chester, received a £1,000 fine for failing to give identification relating to the driver or rider of a vehicle when required. The company must also pay £110 costs for the offence.

Robin Rolfe, aged 44 and of Birch Ridge in Flint, was sentenced for using a motor vehicle without third party insurance, which took place in Flint on Christmas Day 2023, on the A5119. The defendant was fined £660 and handed six penalty points. Costs of £110 were imposed, as well as a £264 victim surcharge.

Lee Maxwell, aged 36 and of St Asaph Road in Dyserth, was sentenced for exceeding 50mph speed limit on the A494 between St David's Park Interchange and Garden City. He was fined £219 and handed three penalty points. The court also imposed costs of £110 and an £88 victim surcharge. However, the court opted not to ban him based on the exceptional hardship he and his family would suffer should he lose his licence. The reasons he set out included that he works as a construction site manager and a licence is "essential" to his employment - and that his family relies on his income to support them and pay mortgage. Responsibility for school drop-offs and pick-ups was another reason the court didn't ban him.
