A HARD-WORKING team based in Flintshire have been given some well-deserved recognition this week.
Nanny Biscuit is a volunteer-driven community initiative with pantries in Connah's Quay and Sandycroft.
Its team is dedicated to fighting food poverty and loneliness in Deeside by offering year-round support and by organising free community events.
This week, North Wales Police officers visited the Nanny Biscuit team to present them with a certificate of appreciation for their daily efforts.

A statement from NWP North Flintshire read: "This morning our team visited Nanny Biscuit to present the volunteers with a certificate of appreciation for the outstanding service and support that the group provides for our community.
"Nanny Biscuit have food pantries in Connahs Quay and Sandycroft that are dedicated to fighting food poverty and loneliness in Deeside.
"Our team are visiting individuals and groups across our district to say thank you to those that go above and beyond to help make a real difference."
The Nanny Biscuit team said: "Congratulations and thank you to all of our Nanny Biscuit's Pantries volunteers for all their hard work.
"They all give up their time free to work in our pantries and also in the background by shopping, banking etc. thank you each and every one of you!
"Without you we could not serve the community and make sure that no one goes hungry."
