WELSH Water has issued an update on repair work on a sinkhole which has emerged on a main Flintshire road.
The sinkhole has emerged in recent days on Chester Road West, in Shotton. It has been caused by a collapsed sewer beneath the road.
As a result of the sinkhole, temporary lights are in operation in the area. Shotton Lane, near the junction with Chester Road West, has also been closed.
On Friday afternoon, Welsh Water issued an update on the matter. A spokesperson said: "We have identified a collapse on our sewer in Chester Road West, Shotton, and our crews are carrying out further investigations to prepare for the repair.
"Traffic management is in place to minimise disruption.
"We would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused and thank people for bearing with us while this essential work is done."
