FLINTSHIRE Council has revealed why a sinkhole has appeared on a road in Deeside.
Earlier today (August 15), the Leader reported that traffic was building up in the Chester Road West area of Shotton.
Residents have taken to social media groups to report the ongoing incident amid delays.
Flintshire Council has now revealed that the sinkhole has been caused by a 'collapsed sewer'.

They added that four-way temporary traffic lights are now in place in order to keep drivers safe.
Flintshire Council and Welsh Water are now working together to complete work 'as soon as possible'.
A spokesperson for Flintshire Council said: "A sink hole has opened on the B5129 in Shotton due to a collapsed sewer, and as a result temporary 4-way traffic signals are currently in place to facilitate the works, and ensure there is no risk to highway users.
"Dwr Cymru Welsh Water are currently investigating, and Flintshire County Council will work with the Utility to ensure the necessary repairs are completed as soon as possible.
"There are currently significant delays on the B5129."
