NEW FIGURES have revealed the latest house prices across Wrexham and Flintshire. 

House prices dropped by 2% in Flintshire in June, new figures show. However, the drop does not reverse the longer-term trend, which has seen property prices in the area grow by 1% over the last year.

According to Land Registry, the average Flintshire house price in June was £213,287, a 2% decrease on May.

Over the last year, the average sale price of property in Flintshire rose by £2,100 – putting the area 12th among Wales’s 22 local authorities with price data for annual growth.

Over the month, the picture was different to that across Wales, where prices increased 0.3%, and Flintshire was lower than the 0.5% rise for the UK as a whole.

For those just getting onto the property ladder, first-time buyers spend an an average of £180,400 on their property – £2,100 more than a year ago, and £37,000 more than in June 2019.

Owners of flats saw the biggest fall in property prices in Flintshire in June – they dropped 2% in price, to £104,489 on average. Over the last year, prices dropped by 0.9%.

In Wrexham, figures showed house prices increased by 1.6%, more than the average for Wales, in Wrexham in June.

Like Flintshire statistics, this rise does not reverse the longer-trend which has seen the property prices in the area suffer a 0.1% annual decline.

The average Wrexham house price in June was £202,972, Land Registry figures show – a 1.6% increase on May.

First-time buyers in Wrexham spent an average of £176,814 on their property – £83 less than a year ago, but £39,861.1252 more than in June 2019.
