WITH JUST two weeks left of the summer holidays, we decided to ask readers of Leader Live to take a trip down memory lane.

On social media, we asked the question - 'Where was your favourite place to visit when you were a child during the school holidays?'

Readers were quick to reminisce mentioning beautiful spots across the region and beyond holding fond memories for many. Here were the top answers...

Liz Griffiths said: "Days up the meadows, River Dee in Chester. Mum would make a picnic and we would walk from Newton to the river, over the suspension bridge for a paddle and a picnic. Lovely childhood memories 1950s."

"Abersoch, my Aunt and uncle would treat us", said Carolyn Givenchy Large.

Christine Parsons holds fond memories of Frith beach in North Wales. "I remember those lovely days and the picnics we had there", added Julie Rawlins.

"Erddig. We'd spend whole afternoons wandering about the gardens and then finish with a homemade picnic. Those were the days!", said Anne Swift.

Angelsey camping trips, another popular destination for many of our readers.

Lise Wills said: "Greenacres in Porthmadog."
