WREXHAM AFC recorded their highest home attendance in 44 years as they returned to League One on Saturday (August 10).
The Reds got their first League One campaign in 19 years underway at the weekend as they beat Wycombe Wanderers 3-2 at the SToK Cae Ras.
Max Cleworth, Jack Marriott and Steven Fletcher were all on the scoresheet in front of the Sky Sports cameras.
The city was buzzing for the return of the football, as a crowd of 13,214 packed inside the Racecourse to watch the season opener.
Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney were also in attendance, with the pair being joined by Desperate Housewives star Eva Longoria.
The club confirmed that the crowd was the biggest home attendance for a league game since 1980, when the Reds faced off against Newcastle United.

Over the summer, the temporary Kop was extended to hold 3,000 fans, as the wait for the new 5,500 seater Kop goes on.
The crowd of over 13,000 was the third highest League One attendance of the weekend, behind Birmingham City (27,985) and Barnsley (14,817).
Next up for Phil Parkinson's side is a trip to Sheffield United in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday evening, before they head to Bolton Wanderers on Sunday, where they are set to be backed by over 3,000 travelling fans.
