IT WAS a successful return to League One for Wrexham AFC on Saturday (August 10) as the Reds started their 2024-25 campaign with a 3-2 home win against Wycombe Wanderers.
After back-to-back promotions, Wrexham were playing their first third-tier match in 19 years, and took all three points thanks to goals from Max Cleworth, Jack Marriott and Steven Fletcher.

Co-owners Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds, as well as actress Eva Longoria, were among the 13,214 in attendance at the STōK Cae Ras yesterday.
The Reds had raced into a 2-0 lead within 30 minutes, but a late goal from Wycombe's Sam Vokes made for a nervy finish.
