RYAN Reynolds and Rob McElhenney have arrived ahead of Wrexham's first game of the League One season.

The Hollywood stars and co-owners turned up at about 3.15pm ahead of the 5.30pm kick-off with Wycombe Wanderers.

Nanak Phlora, 13, let Ryan use his phone to take a selfie video with fans, before he also signed Nanak's Deadpool merchandise - Nanak also starred in Deadpool & Wolverine as Elliot Chipman.

Today is Wrexham's first game in League One since 2005, following back to back promotions.

Crowd gathered outside the stadium gates long before Ryan and Rob's arrival, with one fan saying he had been waiting for them since 10am.

Elsewhere pre-match, the fanzone was heaving hours before kick-off, while Danny Gruff got the fans going with renditions of beloved Wrexham songs.

Eight-year-old Evie was among those to greet some of Wrexham's players, and their manager Phil Parkinson, upon their arrival at about 3pm.

She predicted a third straight promotion for the Reds this season.

Elsewhere, Wrexham AFC fans Mark and Rachael Woodley and Jenny and Keith Murphy flew from Iowa to watch the match.

It was Rachael, Jenny and Keith's first time watching the Reds, and the second occasion for Mark, who fell in love with Wales after studying in Carmarthen.

"It's one of the greatest experiences of my life", he said. "I've always looked for excuses to come back to Wales".
