Hollywood star Ryan Reynolds has paid tribute to Wrexham AFC's oldest fan after he died aged 100.

Lifelong Reds fan Arthur Massey died on Thursday, August 8. He had spent more than 90 years of his life following his beloved Wrexham AFC

Club co-owner Reynolds posted a tribute on social media ahead of the team's new league campaign – the club’s first in the third tier in 19 years – with a home game against Wycombe Wanderers on Saturday.

"A man who embodied everything Wrexham is all about," Reynolds said. "Thank you, Arthur."

Rob McElhenney also paid tribute, describing Mr Massey as a "beautiful man".

"Thank you for sharing him with the world," he replied to the club's post. "Love to your entire family."

Fans of the Disney+ hit series Welcome to Wrexham will recognise Mr Massey for featuring alongside his daughters Jacqui Valentine and Julie Birrell whose social media post of her dad was shared by Reynolds with his 21 million followers on X.
