A WREXHAM business is now offering new walking experiences with alpacas after being granted a licence by the council.

Mulberry Alpacas, based in Penley, has been granted special licence that allows it to offer alpaca walking experiences - and it's th the only place in Wrexham offering it.

The walk includes a talk about Mulberry Alpacas and the world of alpacas, followed by an introduction to your walking companions and a leisurely walk with them. The experience lasts around two hours.

The walking experiences will run on Saturdays, and bookings can now be made via https://mulberryalpacas.co.uk/alpaca-walking/.

Roz Edwards, owner of Mulberry Alpacas with her husband Harry, said: "Alpacas are lovely, calming creatures.

"It's a very restful experience, and there have been a lot of studies about how calming they can be for people with autism."

She added: "We've been building to this over the last eight years since the business was founded, and this is the pinnacle for us. We have 24 adults and three babies, with a couple more on the way.

"It's so lovely to share these amazing animals with the people of Wrexham and beyond."

The alpaca is a species of South American camelid mammal family. Traditionally, alpacas are kept in herds that graze on the level heights of the Andes of Southern Peru, Western Bolivia, Ecuador, and Northern Chile.
