WREXHAM AFC is pleased to announce that midfielder Andy Cannon has signed a new contract with the Club, until the end of the 2025/26 season with the option of a further year.
The midfielder, 28, originally arrived at the STōK Cae Ras in December 2022 and has since played an integral role in the Club achieving back-to-back promotions.
An impressive 2023/24 campaign saw Cannon register 41 appearances, scoring eight goals across the course of the season, while also netting in the 6-0 victory against Forest Green Rovers, which secured promotion to Sky Bet League One.
On signing a new deal to extend his stay in North Wales, he said: “I’m absolutely delighted, it’s been a great 18 months for me since I've been here so I’m over the moon to get it done. Jimmy (James McClean) was begging me to stay, so I had to!
“It’s a really exciting time, we’ve had two promotions, and I always go back to it - there is a great set of lads in there.
"To work with them day-in and day-out and the staff as well, it is a joy so I'm really looking forward to what’s ahead.
