THE MET Office has confirmed hot spells and humidity this weekend as temperatures rise.

A bright start has been forecast for Friday (August 9) with sunny spells and patchy cloud across north Wales.

The day with generally be drier with prolonged periods of sunshine by the afternoon with warm temperatures reaching 23C.

Drizzly rain has been predicted for early Saturday morning with light cloud which will soon fade away with skies turning brighter in the afternoon. 

Very warm and humid nights are expected on Saturday, with temperatures near average for this time of year.

Sunday will be sunnier and much warmer on with highs of 26C. Higher temperatures will continue on Monday with a chance of thunderstorms later on in the day.
