Litter pickers

That’s what we need!

To cope with this unsightly deed

Those faithful ‘volunteers’ will help us out,

To collect this mess, and rubbish, thrown about.

Please folk - you know - that you should take this home!

Or there are bins, so close, in your green zone!

There are fines in place for those who’s found.

So, beware of what YOU are leaving on the ground!

Our ‘green spaces’ are such a place of beauty.

Looking after them should be our pride and duty! It hurts to think that some folks do abuse.

But a HUGE ‘thank you’ to those who ‘don’t’ misuse!

The Council come to cut the grass, Keeping parks and pathways clear - so we can pass.

It makes such a difference to our view,

And it’s just too big a job for us to do!

But, hey - wait a minute - what’s this we see?

There’s now fifty bits of litter - for every three!

They’ve mown though the rubbish - now in pieces!

Such bad litter rules this also breaches!

Council workers – please will you take care,

To pick up that rubbish, when and where,

Before you shred it to a hundred or more!

Leaving us litter pickers an even greater chore!!

Wrexham Council – Please listen to what we say,

As you’ll find that there will come that day,

When volunteers say - they have had enough,

Leaving our lovely greener spaces looking VERY rough!!
