AFTER watching the 'Rate My Takeaway' review of Wrexham's very own Wing King on YouTube, I was curious to see what all the fuss is about...
In April this year, YouTube personality Danny Malin visited Wrexham where he put several eateries to the test.
Up first was Wing King. The business recently relocated to a more spacious unit, occupying the former Gusto d'Italia at Ty Pawb.

The 'King of Wings in Wales' has been a hit with locals and tourists ever since it opened in July 2022.
I came across it during a recent trip to the city centre and decided to pop in for my lunch.
Taken aback by the number of different options, I asked for a recommendation. I opted for the 'Korean Chicken Strips' (£12.50) and the famous 'Chicken, Bacon and Cheese Burger' (£12.50), which was reviewed by Danny on his 'Rate My Takeaway' YouTube channel.
Despite there being plenty of newly refurbished social seating available to enjoy your meal, I decided to take mine home to share. The new venue is spacious and completely accessible to all.
The chicken was cooked beautifully. Glazed in a tangy, sweet and spicy sauce, sesame seeds and chives, the tender strips were quite delicious.
They definitely had a bit of a kick, but nothing too overpowering which I loved. They also came with a side of fries - a tasty and very filling lunch option.
Next up was the chicken burger. Made from a crispy fried chicken breast, this too was surprisingly tender. The toppings included bacon and cheese, mayo, lettuce and onion inside a soft brioche bun - the only perfect way to serve it, in my opinion.

Volunteers' confrontation with van driver didn't end how you might expect!
Overall, it tasted completely fresh and the combination of flavours were anything but bland.
The generous-sized portions (once again, this came with a side of fries) also meant that I could saver it for my dinner. You really get great value for money.
An added bonus was a fantastic 20% off my bill, available when you spend a minimum of £15 at Wing King on selected days.
Wing King is open from Tuesday to Friday, 12pm until 5pm. You can also order it on Just Eat if you live near the city centre.
