THE team at a North Wales animal rescue centre is looking for new homes for their adorable residents.

North Clwyd Animal Rescue (NCAR) have cats, dogs, horses and some smaller animals, all hoping to find their forever home.

The staff and volunteers at the Trelogan-based charity, in Flintshire, know the animals as individuals, and therefore know what kind of home they are more likely to thrive in.

Whether it's a dog, cat, rabbit or horse, staff are on hand to advise on the character and suitability of each.

They also make sure potential new owners are aware of the ongoing costs of a pet, including food and vet bills, which can often be for unexpected treatment.

But thankfully there are plenty of responsible, loving people and families looking to give an animal a loving new home.

And there are always animals of all types, ages and needs that will be the perfect match.

Here we meet just some of those at NCAR looking for a new home...

• For more details, please visit ncar.org.ukor if you would like to support the charity without adopting, you can visit their cafe, open from 10.30am to 3.30pm. They also accept donations at the centre between 10am and 4pm.

Bobby - waiting for adoption at NCAR.

Bobby - waiting for adoption at NCAR.

• Six-year-old Bobby was signed over due to his owner's ill health. He is a really friendly boy who loves meeting new people and getting lots of attention. He can be quite bouncy at times but does settle down easily. He is looking for an active home where he will be taken on lots of adventures. He will need plenty of physical exercise and mental stimulation in order to meet his needs. Due to him being quite boisterous at times, he is looking for a home with sensible and confident children 8+. He can be strong on lead but we will be starting to do some lead training with him which will then need to be continued when he goes to his new home. Bobby seems to be okay around other dogs but hasn't really met many due to his owners not being able to walk him. We will be testing him further during his stay with us but we feel he may have the potential to live with a compatible dog as long as the introductions go well here at the rescue. Bobby was never really left on his own in the home he has come from, so he may struggle with some separation anxiety. He ideally needs a home where there will be someone around for the majority of the day as this is what he has been used to.

Ronnie - waiting for adoption at NCAR.

• One-year-old Ronnie is a nice lad who came into our care after he had been found as a stray and the lady was feeding him for over six months. Ronnie likes a fuss and will sit on your lap but occasionally it will be on his terms. We are looking for an adult home for him but would consider older teenagers. Ronnie needs a good outdoor space away from fast or busy roads. He needs to be the only cat in the house but maybe able to live with one quiet cat savvy dog.

Dolly - waiting for adoption at NCAR.

Dolly - waiting for adoption at NCAR.

• Dolly is about five-years-old and is a sweet little girl who came into our care as a stray, and there were reports of her being thrown from a car. We have found out a little bit of info on her and it appears she has been rehomed multiple times in her life. She is a sweetheart with people and just wants lots of love and cuddles. She is quite a calm, easy going girl who likes going for short walks. Dolly is not good with other dogs so management would be needed on walks with her - she is quite sneaky and will react to them negatively even if she seems fine initially. Since her arrival she has had veterinary treatment on her nostrils (they have been widened to help her breathe), ears and has been spayed. Her ears will need further treatment as they had been left untreated for a long time before coming into our care. Dolly's hips aren't the best either, so although she does like her walks, they will need to be short walks rather than long ones - a home with a decent sized secure garden for her to enjoy would benefit her massively too. Dolly is looking for a home without children but can be rehomed with sensible teenagers. Despite her ailments she is a happy little girl who we hope finds a home soon so she can get back to enjoying home comforts. Due to Dolly possibly requiring further veterinary treatment she needs a home with people who are able to bring her back to our on-site vets.

Dusty - waiting for adoption at NCAR.

Dusty - waiting for adoption at NCAR.

• Seven-year-old Dusty is a lovely girl who was rehomed from the rescue when she was a kitten, and has come back to us for rehoming due to no fault of her own. She is a friendly, loving girl who likes attention. She has always been an indoor only cat by her own choice as she didn't want to venture outside, she is looking for a home where she can continue to be a house cat but maybe have the option of going into the garden if she wanted to. Dusty is looking for a home in a quiet area due to this as she will have no road sense at all. Dusty can be rehomed with children 5+ as this is the age she has been used to. Dusty is looking to be the only pet in her next home.

Mali - waiting for adoption at NCAR.

Mali - waiting for adoption at NCAR.

• One-year-old Mali is a stunning girl who came into our care due to no fault of her own. She is a sweet girl who can be a little timid when she first meets new people but it doesn't take long to warm up to them. She is a really playful girl who loves her toys and playing fetch. Mali gets on well with other dogs when out on walks, she interacts well and seems to like their company. She does have the potential to live with a compatible dog but we have been advised that she will guard her food around other animals, so management will be required in this area. She can be rehomed with sensible children 8+. She is a really energetic girl who is looking for an active home where she will be taken on plenty of walks and adventures. She will require lots of physical exercise and mental stimulation in order to meet her needs. She will require lots of socialisation and training in all areas, she can be quite unsure of new things such as wheelchairs, bikes etc. She can be quite strong on lead at times so will need more work in this area. Her recall is pretty good but can be easily distracted by people and dogs.

Oreo - waiting for adoption at NCAR.

Oreo - waiting for adoption at NCAR.

• Oreo is a one-year-old girl who has been signed over to us as her owners are moving abroad. She is very friendly and likes attention and being with you, but in the home she did venture outdoors and loved spending time in the field too. She is looking for a home with a good outdoor space for her to explore once she has settled in. Oreo can be rehomed with sensible children aged 5+ in her next home as she has been around children before. She is semi-longhair so may require occasional grooming in her next home.
