MANY defendants were dealt with by Wrexham Magistrates Court on Friday.

Gharib Sharifzadeh, aged 46 and of Dunstan Lane in Liverpool, was sentenced for speeding. The charge he was convicted of stated he was caught by automatic camera device exceeding the 50mph 'air quality' speed limit on the A494 between Garden City and Deeside Industrial Park Interchange in Flintshire. He received a six month driving ban and a fine of £40 for the offence. The Court ordered him to pay £110 costs and a £16 victim  surcharge.

Gareth Currie, aged 45 and of Regent Close in Gwersyllt, was also sentenced for exceeding the 50mph limit on the A494 between Garden City and Deeside Industrial Park Interchange. He was banned from driving for six months and must pay a £233 fine, £110 costs and a £93 victim surcharge.

Stephen Lee, aged 59 and of Halkyn Road in Milwr was sentenced for driving without due care and attention, which took place on the B5121 at Brynford when he drove a Transbus vehicle. He was fined £440 and must pay £250 compensation, as well as a £176 victim surcharge and £650 costs. The court handed down five penalty points 

Jay Gough, aged 22 and of Daniels Drive in Ruabon, was sentenced for using a Ford motor vehicle in Pentre Gwyn, Wrexham, without insurance. The court handed down a £120 fine but made no endorsement on the defendant's driving licence for "special reasons." They were that the defendant "genuinely believed he was insured to drive the vehicle at the time of the commission of the offence and he made payments for the policy cover to his employer." Gough must pay £85 costs and a £48 victim surcharge.

David Barton, aged 24 and of Conway Drive in Wrexham, was sentenced for using a passenger vehicle with insufficient tread on the front offside wheel, which happened in Wrexham. He was banned from driving for six months and must pay a £533 fine, as well as £110 costs and a £213 victim surcharge.
