CARIBBEAN restaurant and bar, Turtle Bay, will open its long-awaited Chester location this October.

The Northgate restaurant, which was due to open as early as March last year, encountered significant delays after a gas explosion at the site saw three contractors seriously injured.

The 3,000 sq. ft. unit will be the brand’s first in Cheshire, with space for a total of 154 covers (132 inside and 22 outside).

The brand will bring its s legendary rum, reggae and jerk to the city including its Caribbean jerk pit BBQ, famous tropical cocktails, bottomless brunch and vibrant beach-shack style interior.

Turtle Bay say their Chester restaurant will be bright, airy and spacious with an outdoor terrace for drinking and eating. Inspired by island life, the interior will feature beautiful high impact murals dedicated to Caribbean culture, and the reggae roots that are central to Turtle Bay will add to the vibrant feeling of the space.

At the centre of the kitchen is the jerk pit BBQ where all of Turtle Bay’s famous jerk dishes are created. The jerk dishes are expertly seasoned in a secret spice rub and marinated for 24 hours before being fire grilled and basted for a smoky, deep, rich flavour married with that famous jerk heat. Choose from their signature Jerk Chicken, Mo’Bay Chicken, Jerk Lamb, Vegan “Jerk” Chicken, and more.

As well as jerk flavours there are warming West Indian curries, sunshine salads, burgers and roti wraps. There’s also a huge collection of vegan and vegetarian alternatives, as well as grazing, sharing and small plate options like Crispy Chilli Squid, Sweetcorn Fritters, Trini Doubles, and Mac & Cheese Bites. There’s something for all tastes, occasions and budgets, whether it’s an after-work light bite, date night, or big family get-together.

Turtle Bay Chester guests will also have the option to go bottomless with the Caribbean Bottomless Brunch. This two-hour long brunching experience runs seven days a week and includes unlimited tropical cocktails, mocktails, Red Stripe, & prosecco.

Turtle Bay’s famous 2-4-1 cocktail happy hour includes all the tropical cocktails on the menu and will be landing in Chester too. With rum at the heart of the menu, Turtle Bay cocktails have been specially created to transport guests to the Caribbean, and are best enjoyed alongside juicy jerk and lively reggae beats. Guests can choose TB classics like the Reggae Rum Punch and One Love, as well newer additions like their Island Ice Blast and Tropical Spritz. Happy Hour runs from opening until 6.30pm, with the Late Hour Happy Hour then starting from 9pm until close.

More news of the opening will follow soon and in the meantime, fans can sign up to the Bay Club App for a chance to win FREE tickets to the opening events and exclusive access to updates, offers and advance bookings ahead of the new opening.
