A PERSON has been airlifted to hospital after a crash which has closed a road near a busy Flintshire crossroads this morning (Monday, August 5).
New Brighton Road is closed between New Brighton and Sychdyn following the incident, police have said.
"Please avoid the area for the time being. Thank you in advance for your co-operation."
Police said a person was subsequently airlifted to Stoke Hospital, which contains a major trauma centre.
As of 12.30pm, the road remains closed as forensic collision investigation work takes place at the scene.
A North Wales Police spokesperson said: "Shortly after 8.30am we received a report of a two-vehicle road traffic collision on New Brighton Road, near Mold.
"The road from New Brighton to Sychdyn remains closed.
"Emergency services attended the scene, and one person was airlifted to Stoke hospital.
"Anyone who witnessed the incident or anyone with information is asked to contact us on 101, or via the website, using reference Q115933."
