Moel Famau and the surrounding which makes up Moel Famau Country Park attracts more than 200,000 visitors every year.

Standing at 554m (1818ft) it is the highest summit in the Clwydian Range and offers views across the Vale of Clwyd to Snowdonia and the North Wales coast.

Moel Famau, which is located on the Flintshire/Denbighshire border, is well known for the prominent Jubilee Tower remains situated at the summit.

While the the 2000 acres that is Moel Famau Country Park forms part of the Clwydian Range Area of Outstanding natural Beauty (AONB), Visit Wales explains.

Moel Famau is a much-loved tourist attraction, attracting hundreds of thousands of visitors every year, and boasts a 4.5 out of 5 rating on Tripadvisor from 387 reviews.

One person described the North Wales landmark as "a place of beauty" while another described it as a "10/10 experience".

Another visitor, commenting on Tripadvisor, said: "We've been coming here for years, a great family walk for all abilities 40 minutes from home.

"Various routes you can tackle depending on fitness and time. Well worth the trip to sit with a flask of coffee on the Jubilee Tower."

But not everyone seems to agree with the high praise for Moel Famau.

Only two people, out of the 397 reviews on Tripadvisor, described their experience of Moel Famau as "terrible", giving it a one out of five rating.

One person described Moel Famau as "very steep for no reason" before suggesting a solution.

The review reads: "Very steep for no reason....flatter is better maybe they can level it off at some point also it's too green an woody."

There was only one other "terrible" review on Tripadvisor, with this person describing the North Wales landmark as "not worth the time".

This person in their review says: "A few friends, all have children of same age as my daughter decided to head on to Moel Famau.

"I genuinely do not see the appeal. It is a longish walk if you fancy some exercise but other than the calories burnt I would not recommend this ‘attraction’.

"The views are nothing inspirational, just houses and farms, it was cold as you would expect, toilets were very dirty, there are almost zero waste bins for any food waste you may have.

"Honestly, I would not recommend Moel Famau, it is very isolated, you must pay for parking, area is boring, not worth the time."
