Wrexham and Flintshire families are being invited to enjoy a free Family Fun Day organised by the Deaf and Sensory Network (DSN) at Wepre Park in Connah's Quay.
Taking place on Wednesday, August 7, between 10am and 2pm, a host of activities and practical advice will be on offer at Hear Me! Family Fun Day.
The event, which is primarily designed to support children and young people who are deaf or have hearing loss, is part of the DSN’s Hear Me! Project.
The initiative, funded by The National Lottery Community Fund, aims to improve communication, build self-confidence, and foster independence, tackling issues such as relationship breakdowns and bullying.
Specialist project workers Tracy Cresswell and Ashley MacKay, employed by DSN, will provide tailored assistance across Wrexham and Flintshire.
The Family Fun Day, happening just outside of the park's cafe, promises a range of activities including a Sensory Story Tent, face painting, and interactive sessions with PCSO's from North Wales Police and Aura Leisure's Disability Sports colleagues.
Ms Cresswell, DSN’s senior practitioner for the Hear Me! Project, stressed the importance of the event.

"It's a fantastic opportunity for families to come together, enjoy a day out, and learn more about the support available through the Hear Me! Project.
"We want to empower our community, and this event is a great way to start.
"Whether you're looking for advice, support, or simply a fun day with your loved ones, we welcome you to join us and see how we can help."
The Hear Me! Family Fun Day, described as a celebration of inclusion, is open to every family, whatever their personal experience with hearing loss.
Attendees will be able to learn more about the Deaf community and the available resources.
