PLANS have been submitted to turn a high street estate agency into flats.
A planning application has been lodged with Flintshire Council to turn Forde & Hall estate agency at 24, Chester Road West in Shotton into first and groundfloor flats.
The estate agency recently closed its doors and the owner of the building is looking to renovate it.
They intend to:
- Remove the internal staircase close off the rear add on store area and retain this ground floor as a commercial premises.
- Clear the derelict store area to the rear and build a new wall across with entrance door and form a new internal staircase to the 1st floor internally. This to become a one-bedroomed self-contained flat.
- Install an external staircase to the rear and new entrance to upper floor and form an additional one bedroomed self-contained flat.
The applicant states that there is no parking associated with the site but there is short term public parking to the rear of the property and a public car park across the road at Charmley’s Lane car park.
Flintshire Council will now decide on the application at a later date.
