A SMALL business offering unique games and gadgets is opening a store in Wrexham's city centre this month.
Joining Chapter Court on Saturday, August 10 is Red Dragon's Vault - a family-run business creating models to support neurodivergent individuals.
The 3D models are designed and hand-painted with sensory elements in mind by owners Jon Williams and Beccy Cartwright, who began the business online two-years-ago.
After being diagnosed with a neurological condition in 2022, Jon received two major decompression brain surgeries and unfortunately lost his job in an IT firm as a result of his new disability.
Despite his struggles, he was soon able to put his talent and experience with 3D printing and technology to use.
His partner Beccy and their two children Joshua and Bethany are all neuro-divergent with ADHD and autism which has led to the idea of the articulated fidget models for the business.
The popularity of the models in the children's schools grew rapidly leading to the start of the business. The dragons and models have since kept Jon's purpose and motivation, helping his mental health with having to stop a career he loved and was passionate about.
He said: "This business brought our entire family closer following a very difficult period. While I've been primarily responsible for the 3D printing, Beccy has been focused on hand painting the models and bringing our creations to life.
"Our children have also been involved with assisting in printing, painting and selling our models leading to Joshua now learning how to 3D print and design his own creations."
Deciding to launch the shop in Wrexham was an easy decision for the family. While Beccy and the children were born in the city, Jon attended the university several years ago to study Computer Networks and Security.
Beccy's previous job as a fashion designer has given her the creativity for unique and special designs, and is the reason why Red Dragon has so many accessories.
Having ADHD herself, each design is one-of-a-kind as she enjoys painting every one differently giving them their own personality.
Jon added: "We hope the new Red Dragon's Vault store will offer an all inclusive space for people from all walks of life to come together and enjoy the games and experiences that we love ourselves.
"We hope to use the opportunity of Red Dragon's Vault to promote family friendly activities such as painting days for children and adults as well as "learn to play" events to bring the games and experiences to anyone that wants to get involved.

"The most important element for us is the inclusivity that we will offer as a space where everyone can come and be free to be themselves while enjoying time gaming with friends and making new friends along the way.
"Along with the gaming we will still be fully supportive of neurodiversity by continuing to stock our existing range of 3D printed, hand painted, articulated fidget models that have been so popular within Wrexham and the wider community."
Still in development, Chapter Court will launch fully in Spring 2025. It is already the home to Rough Hands Tap.
The Red Dragon Vault business will open on August 10 with planned regular events going forward. Everyone is invited to the launch party on the day.
