A WOMAN who breached her suspended sentence order by turning up to see probation officers under the influence of booze has been given another chance.
Catherine Jones, of Bank Street in Ponciau, appeared at Mold Crown Court on Tuesday morning.
The 40-year-old was made the subject of an eight month custodial sentence, suspended for 18 months, in October 2023 for an offence of kidnap.
She admitted having breached that order in June this year by turning up to a probation appointment under the influence of alcohol.
Jade Tufail, prosecuting, told the court that since July 3, the defendant had attended in three further appointments.
- Man's conviction for 'spitting at ex-partner' quashed following appeal
- Wrexham man detained in hospital after stabbing his uncle
- Hefty court bill for man caught speeding whilst banned and uninsured
Therefore it was felt she had "reengaged" with the service.
Jones, representing herself at the hearing, handed forward a letter to Judge Timothy Petts, in which she apologised for her conduct.
She stated in the letter that she would comply with the recommendations of the Probation Service.
Judge Petts said: "I'm pleased to hear that since this you've been complying.
"Given this is your first breach and you've admitted it, I mark it by imposing 80 days of alcohol abstinence requirement."
