Sgt Dave Smith, founder of Wrexham Police FC said: "What happened in Southport is truly horrific and our thoughts and prayers are with all those directly involved or affected.
"Like everyone else we’re human, we have children and we have been affected by what we have seen in the news.
"It’s truly awful and our thoughts are with the families and friends of those that were there, the emergency services that attended, the community, and staff in the hospitals that are providing life saving treatment and support."
Earlier today it was confirmed that a third child had died following the stabbing incident at a dance class in Southport. Five children and two adults remain in critical condition at the hospital.
A 17-year-old has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in custody at this time.
Determined to do something to help, Sgt Dave added: "Although we’ve set a target of £1,000, we’d like to raise as much as possible for Alder Hey Children's Hospital where the injured children are currently receiving treatment.
