A POWER cut is affecting a Flintshire town today (Monday, July 29).

Scottish Power has said properties in the Connah's Quay area are currently affected by the outage.

"It was necessary for our engineers to carry out an emergency shutdown at 12.21pm following reports of third party damage to a high voltage underground cable and this may affect the supply to your property.

"We will work to get your power back on as quickly and as safely as possible by 2.30.

"We apologise for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience."

Scottish Power has issued an update, saying: "Restoration is taking longer than expected because of repairs required and our team are now working to get your electricity supply back on as quickly and as safely as possible by 4pm."
