POLICE PATROLS have been stepped up in the city of Wrexham this week during what was a busy week for officers.

The NWP Wrexham Town team explained that 31 arrests have been made during this week.

In all, the neighbourhood policing team dealt with over 200 incidents in the area.

These offences ranged from people being drunk and disorderly to stalking.

They added that investigations are also ongoing into 'poor behaviour' of some people in the city centre.

Officers say they have been doing their bit to keep Wrexham a 'safe and pleasant' place to both live and work in.

A statement from the NWP Wrexham team read: "Officers have been carrying out increased patrols in the city. In addition, the Neighbourhood Policing Team have been working with Wrexham County Borough Council , housing, other help agencies to work towards long term solutions to ensure that Wrexham remains a safe and pleasant place to visit and live.

"Community Protection Notices have been issued and officers are going to court applying for Criminal Behaviour Orders.

"Investigations are ongoing in respect of the poor behaviour of a few in the town centre with seven people having been arrested.

"This has been a busy week for response and Neighbourhood policing. There have been 31 arrests and 205 occurrences."
