AN APPEAL for witnesses has been launched after thieves stole a donation collection box from a Flintshire church.

North Wales Police say the incident took place at St Mary's Church in Treuddyn, near Mold, on Tuesday (July 23).

Thieves stole the collection box, which contained donations, and officers believed this will 'likely' have been disposed somewhere locally once emptied.

Damage was also caused to another collection box which they were unable to remove from the church.

NWP's South Flintshire team said: "Officers are appealing for witnesses to a recent burglary at St Marys Church in Treuddyn where offenders entered overnight on the 23rd of July and stole a collection box containing donations.
