FOLLOWING months of crucial fundraising and construction work, a young Wrexham AFC fan has received the bedroom of his dreams - and it's completely accessible for his needs.

After being diagnosed with TUBA1A, epilepsy and cerebral palsy, five-year-old Louis Perrin and his parents Aaron and Charlotte knew their family home needed to be adapted to support his limited mobility.

A plea to the wonderful residents of Wrexham raised over £50,000 - a life-changing total that exceeded the family's expectations beyond belief. After years of struggling, the funds allowed construction work to begin on their house.

After several months of hard work and dedication from professionals, family and friends (and a lot of overseeing from Louis himself), the downstairs bedroom has finally been completed.

Arron said: "He absolutely loves it and is so much happier at home already.

"I hope everyone who has supported Louis over the last few months gets to see the photos. From sharing posts, donating, and organising fundraisers, you've all made this happen. I would like to thank all of the trades that have worked in our home over the last four months.

"Everyone got the brief and understood that this needed to move swiftly and smoothly for our family. They've all been brilliant.

"Now it's time to concentrate on the garden - keep your eyes peeled!"

Louis is thrilled with his Wrexham AFC-inspired bedroom and newly installed wet room.

Aaron and Charlotte's heartfelt plea came after several failed alternatives. After exploring other options, including moving house, they knew they'd encounter similar troubles elsewhere. Their only option was to adapt, but they couldn't have done it alone.

Louis had become increasingly frustrated by his dependence on others, not being able to access his previous bedroom and play like his siblings and friends.

Following his fifth surgery last month, Aaron said: "The surgery highlighted even more so the need for our home to be adapted so we can care for him better and so he can gain his independence."

The new downstairs set-up means that Louis has enough space to play independently where he can receive intimate care and eventually independent self-care.
