AN ASPIRING young musician has received huge praise this week after a video of him busking in Wrexham was shared online.

17-year-old Alex Lavery from Borras has been overwhelmed with compliments and kindness from the people of Wrexham after a stranger shared a video of his talent on social media.

The footage, which captured Alex performing his electric guitar on Regent Street, received plenty of attention with people taking notice of his potential, confidence and old-school style.

Currently studying music production at Deeside College, Alex is planning to pursue a career in the tough industry, focusing mainly on studio and live events.

He said: "I've only been busking for around five weeks, although I've played open mic jam sessions before.

"I'm extremely grateful for all the feedback I've received so far. It makes all the years of practice I've put in feel worth it.

"I'm also glad people still appreciate the older styles of music that I do.

"I start my second year at Deeside in September and I'm currently looking at universities so I can further my music education."
