A NEW report ranks local authorities in Wales based on their average price to rent so far in 2024 - and Wrexham and Flintshire both ranked as one of the highest.
With constant inflation rises, the opportunity for first time buyers to get a mortgage offer that is affordable and reasonable is very difficult. This is leaving people turning to the rental market for property.
Due to this, BLG Development Finance and Online Marketing Surgery has created their Rent Report, ranking areas in Wales based on their average rent price so far this year. This determines the best and worst areas to rent.
Powys has the cheapest rent price average so far this year with £546 per month, while the highest rent prices is Cardiff with £1,099 per month.
Wrexham and Flintshire are among the most expensive areas to rent in Wales, with Flintshire being £711 a month and Wrexham £681.
