The Osprey Charging Network has launched a rapid electric vehicle (EV) charging hub at Billy Jeans Café, Holywell.

The new public facility boasts 12 high-powered EV chargers, compatible with every electric vehicle currently on the market.

Depending on the vehicle and its battery, these chargers can add up to 100 miles of range in just 15-20 minutes of charge.

The hub will boost the expanding UK's EV charging infrastructure, improving local air quality, reducing noise pollution, and supporting local decarbonisation efforts.

Installed at Billy Jeans Café in Holywell, these high-powered chargers add to Osprey's growing network, enhancing public charging accessibility for residents, businesses, and visitors alike in Flintshire.

The café's location offers an ideal spot for drivers to recharge their EVs while also grabbing a bite to eat.

Osprey's payment system accepts contactless bank cards, Apple/Google Pay, the Osprey App, RFID card payments, and all major third-party payment methods, including fleet cards.

In addition, the network's in-house software, Osprey Iris, ensures reliability and innovation, contributing to Osprey's 'Driver Recommended Network' rankings and its recognition as 'Best EV Charging Network' at the Transport and Energy Awards.

Ian Johnston, CEO of Osprey Charging, said: "The roll-out of EV charging facilities is quickly gathering pace and we’re here to provide a reliable and rapid public charging service for all drivers, from Cornwall to the Scottish Highlands.

"Osprey now has over 1,000 charge points available to use across the UK, each carefully designed to maximise space, accessibility and made to the latest and highest standards.

"The new charging hub in Holywell will form a vital part of the re-charging network that will enable the decarbonisation of transport in the UK."

Ahead of the 2035 ban on new petrol and diesel vehicles, the increasing use of EVs across the UK shows the importance of public charging infrastructure.

The Billy Jeans Café charging hub will strengthen the UK's national charging infrastructure and boost efforts to decarbonise transport.

This installation, fully funded by Osprey, is also beneficial for Breact Ltd, the landlord of the hub, as it attracts increasingly more EV drivers.

Independent body ChargeSafe consistently rates Osprey's charging locations highly for safety and accessibility.

Osprey have previously been awarded the Chargepoint Network of the Year and Private Sector Infrastructure Strategy of the Year at the Electric Vehicle Innovation and Excellence Awards.
