A POPULAR specialist natural food store has announced it will close down next month after nearly 10-years in business.

Located on Bridge Street in Llangollen, 'Zingiber' has welcomed customers with open arms for almost a decade.

Sadly, the store will close to the public on Saturday, August 10 to allow owner Chris Baker to begin his much-deserved retirement.

He said: "This will no doubt be a blow to the shop's many loyal customers but, after nearly 10 years in business, the time has come to call it a day, hang up my apron and start the next phase of my life.

"Undoubtedly I shall miss seeing the great variety of lovely folk who shop at Zingiber and the conversations across the counter - sometimes useful, sometimes zany, always interesting.

"I have made some good friendships while serving the people of Llangollen and the surrounding district, and feel that Zingiber has become part of the community, so I am truly sorry that is will not be continuing... although if anyone would like to take on the business and acquire the building, please come and have a word!"

The store is known for its wide range of the finest wholefoods, including organic, gluten-free and vegan options.

Stock will gradually run down over until its closure. Customers are being urged to contact the store to order specific items as there may not be any deliveries from suppliers in the final weeks.

Chris has made no solid plans for his happy retirement as of yet. He is touched so many will miss the store in the Llangollen community.
