NORTH Wales Police have confirmed an investigation is underway following an unusual disturbance at a Flintshire cricket club on the weekend (Saturday, July 20).
An incident unfolded during a cricket match at Connah's Quay Central Park involving two unidentified males which was caught on camera.
The video, which was recording the match at the time, shows one man appearing to run through the players before pulling up one of the stumps. He is then pursued by the second man carrying an object resembling a bat in a somewhat heated dispute.
Both men then leave the field of play while shouting at one another, the first taking the stump with him before it is later recovered. The footage also appears to show a dog trailing after the pair of them as they were told to "get off the pitch."
In a statement following the incident, a North Wales Police spokesperson said: "We were made aware of an isolated incident at the Connah’s Quay Cricket Club on Saturday, July 20th.
"An investigation is underway and anyone with information is asked to contact us via the website, or by calling 101, using reference number 24000632886."

The following day, Nick Pratt, Chairman of Connah's Quay Cricket Club, told the Leader: "I have been chairman for six years and involved with the club for ten. I've never seen anything like it.
"The police were called but what action I was taken I don't know - they were around the Central Park area all day... It was a very unusual thing to happen."
If anyone in the Connah's Quay area recognises the individuals or has any further information, please contact North Wales Police.
